Our team of chartered surveyors at ASL are experienced in dealing with insurance claims for all major perils including subsidence, fire and flood.
We deliver independent surveying services for insurance claims on residential and commercial properties, working with both private clients as policy holders, and major loss adjusters.
Our highly qualified surveyors operate independently from other parties involved in a claim, ensuring our advice is always impartial, handled carefully, effectively and accurately.
Insurance claim surveying focuses on assessing and managing the claim, while reinstatement deals with the practical task of repairing the damage.
An insurance claim surveyor is responsible for assessing damage to both residential and commercial properties covered by insurance policies, caused by incidents like fire, floods, or structural issues.
The main role of our insurance claim surveys is to investigate the extent of any damage, verify the cause, and ensure a claim is valid.
When approaching an insurance claim, we conduct site inspections, gather evidence, and speak to relevant parties before preparing a detailed report, referred to as a schedule of works, which outlines repairs needed. This report is usually provided to the client, loss adjuster, or assessor.
We work closely with your insurer’s loss adjusters to interpret your building insurance policy, making sure you receive the service you’re entitled to.
If your commercial property suffers major damage, we take a proactive approach to minimise any disruption to your business, get your premises reinstated swiftly.
There is no obligation to use the in-house surveyor provided by the loss adjuster.
While you are not obligated to hire a surveyor, having an expert who understands the complexities of insurance policies and claims procedures can provide valuable peace of mind.
A surveyor may be appointed by the policyholder, a loss adjuster, or a loss assessor. In all instances, ASL’s surveyors will act independently, offering unbiased advice on the necessary steps for repair.
As per the terms of your policy, the policyholder can appoint an independent building surveyor to oversee the insurance reinstatement works, with the fees included as part of the claim.
Once appointed, we will communicate directly with the insurer’s loss adjuster to ensure your claim is resolved to your satisfaction. We are also happy to review your policy before any fee-based work begins.
We understand that experiencing major damage can be incredibly stressful, but we aim to ease some of the anxiety by offering a proactive approach to reinstatement works.
